10 Days, 7 Looks, and One Unforgettable Experience: Breakkin Even at Budweiser x NBA
Some opportunities arrive with months of planning and preparation. Others arrive unexpectedly and ask you to trust your team, your instincts, and everything you have built so far.
Our collaboration with Budweiser x NBA was one of those moments.
When Budweiser approached Breakkin Even in April to participate in the fashion showcase at their NBA event in Delhi, we knew it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. It brought together two worlds that have always influenced contemporary culture: fashion and basketball.
Like most people, we initially assumed the biggest challenge would be designing the collection. What we quickly learned was that creating the garments was only one part of the process.
Over the following weeks, the collection evolved through multiple rounds of concepts, presentations, and approvals. Working with both Budweiser and the NBA meant every detail was carefully reviewed, often across teams in India and the United States. Designs changed, looks evolved, and ideas were continuously refined before the final collection was approved. While the process was demanding, it pushed us to think harder, adapt faster, and stay committed to our creative vision.
The real challenge arrived towards the end.
By the time the collection was finalized, we had only 10 days to produce seven complete runway looks. Each look included garments, layering pieces, and accessories, turning what was originally a month-long project into a race against time.
Our studio quickly transformed into a production floor. Patterns were being developed, fittings were taking place, samples were being revised, and accessories were being completed simultaneously. Every member of the Breakkin Even team stepped beyond their usual role to ensure that nothing was left unfinished.
Despite the pressure, there was a shared sense of excitement throughout the process. We knew we were building something that represented not only the collaboration but also our approach to design.
Alongside the fashion showcase, Breakkin Even also presented an installation at the event. Seeing our work occupy a space that celebrated basketball, music, fashion, and youth culture was incredibly rewarding. It felt like our ideas had become part of a much larger cultural conversation.
Then came show day.
Backstage was everything a fashion show is known for - organized chaos. Hair teams moved between models, makeup artists worked through final touch-ups, stylists prepared looks, and garments were steamed moments before stepping onto the runway.
For a few hours, it felt like pure chaos.
Then the lights came on.
One by one, the looks walked onto the runway. Weeks of conversations, revisions, experimentation, and production came together in front of a live audience.
The response made every challenge worth it.
Hearing the applause from the crowd was an unforgettable moment for our team. Seeing Breakkin Even present alongside other incredible homegrown brands was equally special. It was a reminder of how much talent exists within India’s independent fashion community and how fortunate we were to be part of that moment.
For us, the biggest achievement was not simply completing the collection. It was proving to ourselves that as a team, we could adapt, problem-solve, and deliver under pressure without losing sight of who we are as a brand.
Budweiser x NBA gave us a platform, but the experience gave us something even more valuable. It showed us what is possible when a team trusts one another and commits to a shared vision, even when the path forward is uncertain.
This project challenged our creativity, tested our resilience, and pushed us beyond our comfort zone.
Most importantly, it reminded us why Breakkin Even exists.
To create. To experiment. To push boundaries. And to keep moving forward.
For our team, this was more than a fashion showcase.
It was a milestone.
